We can't even agree on spelling:

What exactly has been accomplished here??

Bush says Israel defeated Hezbollah

Hizbollah declares victory

Bush appears closed-lipped at right. If only..

Bush is right of course. "Mission Accomplished." It was a cakewalk.

...Recommendations for How To Defeat the Terrorists from the Bush Administration:

Shop.
Seal off your house somehow with duct tape.
Spy and report on your neighbors.
Throw away all your shampoo before boarding aircraft.

btw, Happy Birthday, Mike! (I was away from my desk for a couple weeks and missed it!)

If only. But then again maybe you misunderestimated Dubya's intelligence, my old fart friend. ;)

To save everyone from confusion, I prefer the term Hiz-Bollocks.

DUDE...you have NO IDEA how irritated I have been getting by the spelling issue. I must say, however, that Jenn has the right idea! :-)

That would be a first, then.

I just want someone to tell me what has been accomplished here other than a bunch of civilians getting blown up.

It is not a first. I'm RIGHT all the time. I am also brilliant, but misunderstood.

Now then, Mike, the reason civilians were killed is that Hiz-Bollocks not only stopped families from leaving after Israel was kind enough to drop leaflets letting them know that they were in danger, but they continued to fire missiles from civilian populated ares.

Not to mention the fact that we aren't sure how many actual civilians died. For two reasons.

1) Hiz-Bollcoks do not wear uniforms, so I would hazard a guess that a vast majority of the male teens and older men were Hiz-Bollocks fighters.Heck, even some of the women.

2) There are many instances of falsified reports and pictorial documentaion. So, it's hard to believe a word they say.

War sucks Mike. People die. Not much you can do about it. If the Arabs would stop lobbing rockets into Israel, and blowing up falafel shops and discos full of kids, then maybe Israel wouldn't feel quite as motivated next time to use deadly force.
