NSA has massive database of Americans' phone calls

As reported tonight by USA Today.

Can you hear me, now?
Do you feel safer now?

4th Amendment out the window.

Qwest to the US Government: F YOU!

The other companies apparently hate America and our freedoms as much as Bush does.

Listen, we got a fascist dictator at work here.

And I supported this man at first too, even though I didnot vote for him either time.

What was I thinking?!

Probably a lot of people felt that way at first.
Heck, I thought I had been too tough on the dumbshit when he was selected after he brought in Christie Todd Whitman for the EPA and then Powell as the Sec. of State.
Both good, honest people.
Whitman, of course wound up leaving the EPA because she was disgusted with the neo-con politics.
And Powell played the good soldier and had a bad taste in his mouth the whole time. But he stood there and lied, too, so I had to write him off.

The moment I knew we were in for a shit storm in this country was when he nominated that asshole Ashcroft.

Well Mike, I never supported the dumbfuck... guess I'm one of those *radicals* Phoenix mentioned when answering your question over at my place today.

I supported Bush for about ten day after he was "elected" in 2000. After all, he was our President. I feel like a dumbass because one of my best friends never trusted him from the beginning.

Now that this has come to light, I wonder how my Republican friends feel about this?

I'm proud to say I never supported the fuck. I'm old enough to remember the corruption and misery of Bush the First under Reagan and then his own administration. My expectations for Junior were pretty low, but he has managed to exceed my expectations and run this country into the ground faster and deeper than I expected. That wasn't meant to be a sexual metaphor, but I guess it is, because we are truly fucked.

Fourth amendment doesn't cover collection of phone numbers only conversations, nice try liberal.

And how is it that catching my number as a make a call does not violate the 4th amendment?
Which reads:
"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."

Further, I want you to tell me in your own words, why is it that the Bush administration and the NSA could not just get warrants if this and the wiretapping was so important.

Tell me why when Qwest balked at what they wanted to do and asked for a warrant, they did not provide one.

For what purpose is there in catching numbers that people call and tapping phones without a warrant when they can in fact do so for a couple days while they get said warrant.

Finally, you can use that term "liberal" as a slur on my blog all you want, traitor, because I do in fact consider myself liberal on a lot of things.
And if being "liberal" means being the opposite of someone like yourself who hates America and all of our freedoms so much, then that is just fine with me.

Still waiting for an answer from Jon, of course.

Why do you hate America and our freedoms so much, traitor?
