Certain crazed Christians that hate woman (and freedom)

Why are they not completely marginalized in our free and modern society?

As evidence, I submit this article from Reuters and Yahoo today.

Talk about throwing out the baby with the bath water.

They are basically ensuring that more people will continue to get cervical cancer and warts with their backwards thinking about this drug from Merck.

For the health (literally) of our nation, we need to place these people at the extreme fringe.

Two dangerous things have happened in our country since the election of the Bush extreme and the other crazed right in the congress.
More Constitution-haters have been placed in the judiciary.
Crazed religious freaks like those that oppose this drug are actually given any sort of voice and listened to.

Although the Neo-cons in the backrooms most likely just laugh at the rubes that think the world is 6000 years old, their pandering to them for votes and the like have allowed them to have a voice in areas where they deserve none.
Witness the FDA and the Morning After Pill/Plan B.
Here you have a drug that can STOP someone from getting pregnant, thus lowering the chance of someone ever getting an abortion, but the nuts out there don't want it available.

And what kind of crazy person would be against a drug that can STOP women from dying?
As the article states:

Cervical cancer is the second-most-common cause of cancer deaths worldwide. There are nearly a half million diagnoses and 240,000 deaths each year, Merck said.

Why do they hate women and our freedoms so much?

According to the Biblethumpers that were quoted in the article, they're in favor of having this drug available; they just don't want it to be mandatory. A few months ago those same two-faced bastards were against even having the drug available, since of course anyone who uses it will instantly turn into a slut. Maybe someday these Spanish Inquisition types will pull themselves out of the 13th century. Riiight.

Ugh! I've read about this and I hate this mode of thinking. These people hate science and progress. They think if you get sick it's god punishing you. Ridiculous.

Part of the reason the religious freaks have so much weight is that they've taken over so much of the Republican party apparatus at the local level. The amount of control they wield is way out of proportion with their numbers in the population.
