Are the war drums getting louder? Plus, the leaking Pretzeldent

Like fucking Keith Moon over there a the White House right now.

Oh, I know, according to El Presidente:

"I know here in Washington prevention means force," Bush said at the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University. "It doesn't mean force, necessarily. In this case, it means diplomacy."

Sound familiar?

Are they hoping that war with Iran is going to boost W's polls or something?
Is there anyone with just a little taste for IRONY over there who finds it funny that some of our installed folks in Iraq are aligned with Iran?
Just wondering.
So is the AP wire and others if you go and read this story.

Moving on to the leaky side of the WH, Greg Palast brings up a point that the Corporate Media seems to be missing.

Not that I'm shocked.
But we're now getting into splitting hairs with ANOTHER administration (remember, what the meaning of "is" is?)
W said that he's the leaker, but he declassified it.
Oh, OK.
Problem with that, Sparky, is that they withheld stuff from the Grand Jury that was investigating the Plame outting.
Whoops.
Big whoops, in my opinion.

As Palast points out:

Think about that. While (Judy) Miller sat in a prison cell, Bush and Cheney were laughing their sick heads off, knowing the grand jury testimony, the special prosecutor's subpoenas and the FBI's terrorizing newsrooms were nothing but fake props in Bush's elaborate charade, Cheney's Big Con.

At the least, they should all be dragged away and charged with obstruction of justice and fraud.

I'm not sure what you mean by that, Mike, but I certainly consider myself so.

I wouldn't have used as many curse words as he did, but I stand by my statements there and here and on your blog that what you were attempting to do with that greenlink dude was a shitty thing.

Thanks for clarifying that... So rules, standards of conduct and ethics really only DO apply to Republicans... as I have said all along...

I'm glad to know you folks are exempt from the same standards you impose on the rest of us.

No, I think everyone should be held to high standards.
But I STILL stand by my feeling that you, or anyone else is entitled their personal opinions and that calling someone out to their company because they posted on your blog something counter to your beliefs was completely unnecessary.

I find it interesting that in all of the discussion between you and Mike's America he never addresses your point...that he behaved in a disgraceful manner in snitching to greenink's employer.

He also continually claims that people on the left believe that only Republicans should be held to high ethical standards. This is a typical Republican tactic--instead of trying to explain why their position is correct (which, it seems, none of the right-wing blogggers are able to do) they resort to name calling and/or they try to change the subject and hope no one notices.

They use lies and fallacious arguments to make their point, and resort to name-calling instead of logic then accuse the left of doing the very thing they're guilty of. I still wonder: what motivates those who still support Bush? What's their agenda? Do they understand how freaked up the administration is but just not care because it serves their interests? It's hard to fathom.

Yes, and that was the same thing on his blog, and over at Tom Harper's place.

He just doesn't seem to get it.

I feel that he's highly intellegent, though with a radically different view of the world than I.
However, on this issue, it's really only one-sided: It was a bullshit manuever.
