First of all, I absolutely love the headline:

I do love when Yahoo does that kind of thing on purpose.
And you can't possibly think they don't.
Young Ms. Simpson said that she didn't want to politicize her cause "Operation Smile".
Sez the article:
The National Republican Congressional Committee had even arranged for Simpson to dine at one of the head tables with U.S. House of Representatives Majority Leader John Boehner, an Ohio Republican. The NRCC hopes the $2,500-per-plate dinner event will raise $7.5 million for Republican candidates in the congressional midterm elections in November.
I guess there are a bunch of old farts sitting around bummed out that they didn't get to check out a hot young blonde over dinner.
I wonder if they were serving buffalo wings..

She's not the blonde barefoot & pregnant *bimbo* they thought she was.
I thought this was a funny headline too, she is smarter that we give her credit for. If she goes, then she loses any potential $ from the other side for her Project Smile.
I'm not too sure that I'm ready to assign more smarts to her yet, though I did think it was funny.. :)
mike~ sometimes i wonder if the lack of *smarts* thingy is all an act & that she's *smarter* than we think. :o)
When I saw the headline, I was actually worried she was going to make some statement against Bush, and I was admit I was thinking to myself, "please, Jessica, do NOT do us any favors!"
And I think her dad can expect an IRS audit next year.
Well, there you go.
