Photo of the week.

Found this fuzzy thing out on my roses when I was pruning them.

I popped the color a bit, but not too much.

You can click on him to see a larger version.

Beautiful! Our roses won't be here for 3 or 4 months.

btw, the photo looks professionally done; great job! :)

VERY pretty.

What did it look like after you sprayed your roses with pesticide? Or is this multicolored thing the result?

I really only mist the ends of the branches with a non-poison thing for aphids.

The thing with roses, the healthier you keep them, you need not much at all to keep them from getting bugs and mold.
I do use a systemic feed on them a couple times a year, though, that does help with bugs and stuff. I prefer that to spraying.

Wow, you should have seen how that picture loaded on my screen. It looked like it was moving. Very trippy. Amazing clarity in your photo, Mike, nice job.

yay for not spraying. A good dose of compost on your roses a couple of times a year will do more to keep bugs and fungii off of the roses than toxic chemicals that always end up killing all the good guys too.

But you should kill that caterpiller ASAP as it will eat more than its' fair share.

A great way to control aphids is to spray your plants with sugar water and hang a humming bird feeder nearby. the sugar water will attract ladybugs and other beneficial bugs who will eat the aphids. The Hummer feeder will attract hummers which love to eat aphids.

And I did not think you popped the colors too much at all.
