Stop. Hammer Time. Or not..

Tom DeLay Steps Down As House Leader

WASHINGTON - Rep.
Tom DeLay, the defiant face of a conservative revolution in Congress, stepped down as House majority leader on Saturday under pressure from Republicans staggered by an election-year corruption scandal.

"former senior staff members have admitted or have been implicated in corrupt and illegal activities to get money for themselves by influencing legislation. Whether or not Mr. DeLay was involved himself or knew this was going on, he is responsible for his office."

Whoops!

Watch his former friends scatter as if someone yelled, "Grenade!!!"

Oh, and watch while the GOP faithful spin this to include the Democrats in the "no one is clean" argument.

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood.

p.s. Mike Vella - I totally agree with your comments, especially the second one!

Lani, that was a quote from the AP.
Or do you mean what I said on your blog?

They're already trying to spin everything that way all over the neo-con echo machines.
But the facts are that ONLY republicans have recieved money from Abramhoff, as a for instance.
Whoever gets swept up in the cleaning house that's going to happen this year, I don't care, throw all the bums and bummettes out, fuck 'em.
But the stink is the worst right now over on the GOP side of the aisle..

I have to admit, I am lovin' the fact that this is a wholly republican scandal. Ha!

Oh yeah... all the hundreds of thousands that went from Abramoff's firm and clients to Democrats and this is a Republican scandal!

Sad really! You folks are spinning so fast you are dizzy!

Still no call for accountability for Pelosi, guilty of violating Federal campaign finance law.

Still no call for Hillary to be held accountable, after admitting guilt of violating federal campaign finance law.

Still no call for Harry Reid step aside, even though every male member of his family has taken hundreds of thousands to influence Daddy on legislation (or maybe you folks don't believe the LA Times).

Yep... got to be dizzy with all that spinning and one way fingerpointing while your buds have their hands in the same cookie jar.

All the truly life and death issues this nation faces and this is what you folks spend your time grousing about?

It's my opinion that they bury anyone with their hand in the cookie jar the wrong way.
But we all know where the most of the stink is right now.

Sheanc needs to spend more time actually looking into this.

It's not a Republican scandal. It's a scandal of some politicians. Some are Republican, some are Democrats. Stop sucking down the liberal media cherry kool-aid.

I think it's really pathetic when people talk about how wonderful it is when a person commits a crime. It really shows your true colors.

Put down the party hats children and grow up.

Tell us all about how many on each side of the aisle have received money directly from Abramhoff.

Hey, Jenn and "Mike's America", guess what: you're totally wrong! All, and I mean all, of the Abramoff scandal money went to republicans! I have researched it, and this is a republican scandal!

And yes, I am amused by it, because the republicans are always proclaiming themselves to be above reproach, morally superior, even God's chosen political party. And time after time they are are proven to be absolute hypocrites.

Live with it, Jenn! Embrace your conservative criminal values, "Mike's America"! You can try to deflect the blame, deny the truth, and play it down as much as you can. Facts are facts, and this is an example of massive corruption among a ton of republican politicos. It's all yours, baby!

C'mon, blame Clinton. C'mon...

Oops, I meant to write Matt Vella, not Mike. I was agreeing with this:

Watch his former friends scatter as if someone yelled, "Grenade!!!"

Oh, and watch while the GOP faithful spin this to include the Democrats in the "no one is clean" argument.

I guess Matt must be your brother!
