Greetings of the season, Mike. I hope the coming year brings the world some changes for the better. It will be interesting to see if ANYTHING can shake the American populace from an ennui that is just as dangerous as the hubris of the Administration and the corruption of our legislators. Peace.
Oh, you know it! We made some zinfandel braised beef short ribs, spinach graten, and potatoes for dinner. And I made another cheesecake (with lowfat creamcheese and sour cream) with a cocoa crust and zest of tangerine in the filling.
"Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony"
"As we peer into society's future, we -- you and I, and our government -- must avoid the impulse to live only for today, plundering, for our own ease and convenience, the precious resources of tomorrow. We cannot mortgage the material assets of our grandchildren without risking the loss also of their political and spiritual heritage. We want democracy to survive for all generations to come, not to become the insolvent phantom of tomorrow."
