You Texans could use a Kinky new Gov.

Willie Nelson Hosts Friedman Fundraiser

AUSTIN, Texas -
Willie Nelson opened up his central Texas ranch and private golf course Sunday, raising an estimated $170,000 for his friend
Kinky Friedman, an independent candidate for Texas governor.

Hey, if I lived there (which will probably happen when hell freezes over), I'd vote for the Kinkster because he's probably the only person running that isn't full of shit.

Plus, I've read all of his books!
Do the right thing, Texas, vote for the first Mystery writer/Jewish country western singer ever to be elected Governor in the US!

Friedman, an author and entertainer, will need up to $5 million just to get his name on next year's ballot, managers say.

Former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura, who was elected as member of the Reform Party, joined supporters for lunch and golf. Friedman cited Ventura's success as proof that he become the first Texas independent governor since Sam Houston.
