Iowa - So goes the nation?
Interesting turn of events in Iowa.
I was thinking Edwards, and it was close. I knew that Clinton would not prevail there.
But Obama and Huckabee. Who would have thought?
I still feel that Kucinich is the best person for the job and will vote for him so long as he's on my primary ballot.
My choices top to bottom would be Dennis K, Edwards, Dodd, Obama then Biden.
No, Clinton isn't even in my list because I would never vote for her in any race.
She's Dick Cheney in a pantsuit and too much of a corporatist whore.
Huckabee is bat shit crazy. He's semi-populist, but this guy thinks the earth is 6000 years old and that there's no such thing as evolution.
We've had enough religious talk in politics. That shit needs to stop.
I wouldn't vote for this crazy asshole in any circumstance. Same with Romney.
I wouldn't vote for ANY Mormon with a gun to my head.
We've had enough damaged people in office. It's bad enough that we've had a fucking "former" cokehead/drunk in the White House since 2001. We should know better. Who votes for a drunk??
I don't care if they're dry. They're still damaged goods. I would never date or marry a former addict (drugs or alcohol) and I certainly wouldn't trust one with "the button".
*UPDATE*
I guess George Will feels similar to me on Huckabee:
Huckabee says “only one explanation” fits his Iowa success “and it's not a human one. It's the same power that helped a little boy with two fish and five loaves feed a crowd of 5,000 people.” God so loves Huckabee's politics that he worked a Midwest miracle on his behalf? Should someone so delusional control nuclear weapons?
Answer: NO.
For Obama to pull it out in Iowa says that there has been some real change in this nation, though.
I think they like his style. But is he what is best for the country? Will he get us the hell out of Iraq? Will he start bringing the US back from the black hole into which BushCo. has drug the country?
I guess "anyone is better than Bush" can get anyone pretty far, but we truly need the right people for the job as well.
I'm saddened that Dennis Kucinich has pretty much counted himself out of the race. I'm more saddened in the manner with which the media is allowed to control the direction of our presidential races.
One more thing; open primaries need to come back.
I hope everyone had great holidays and Happy New Year!
Peace.
They decide immediately on the so-called tiers.

I'm with ya on Huckabee and Romney. And for me, you gotta add McCain to the "bat shit crazy" list. That guy actually scares me the most.
What do you make of the Ron Paul phenomenon? Seems like some fairly smart people I know are into him. Do you think it's the "third party" effect (even though he's not technically third party)? That's my best explanation. He (and anybody else) will never get my vote as long as he continues to spout the anti-choice rhetoric.
Our lists are comparable, save I would switch Obama and Dodd. I hope to see Kucinich on my primary, but it wouldn't hurt if someone convinced me why I shouldn't feel like my vote is being wasted.
I've always been bothered by the whole wasted vote thing.
Either one votes their conscience or not..
While it's pretty much impossible to argue with the sentiment of what you say, should I really feel like my vote for Nader had any kind of premium impact on the country? I know it's conformity at a covert level, but I'd rather my vote go to someone I'm 10% less aligned with than have another GW running the show.
Well New Hampshire just bitch slapped Iowa. And I think those results are more in line with how the rest of the country may go on the Democratic side. I thing the GOP is a total crap shoot. The winner is going to change with every state. I Don't see McCain pulling out a big win streak going forward.
I don't like how the media is dictating the direction of the race either. Why not let Kucinich into the debates? He may never win but I love the guy.
YES on open primaries!!!!
