You gotta love Newt.

Gingrich, that is.
On Prop 8 getting overturned in CA:

"Judge Walker's ruling overturning Prop 8 is an outrageous disrespect for our Constitution and for the majority of people of the United States who believe marriage is the union of husband and wife"

Right. I wonder which of Newt's 3 marriages he feels has been the most important.
Let's break it down for him. His Honor sez:

"fundamental rights may not be submitted to [a] vote; they depend on the outcome of no elections."

Nice.

And:

"Never has the state inquired into procreative capacity or intent before issuing a marriage license; indeed, a marriage license is more than a license to have procreative sexual intercourse."

I think that pretty much sums it up. Unless you want to designate a marriage sans kids illegal..

Then on the "mosque" proposed near Ground Zero (note, EVERYTHING is fucking close to Ground Zero in lower Manhattan. You can get there on foot in 5 minutes or less from anywhere below Canal Street):

"There are no churches or synagogues in all of Saudi Arabia"

Good plan, lowering the bar to Saudi Arabia for the USA.
Keep talkin' Newt. It's hilarious.

Prop 8 is one of the few times where I said "WTF???" to California. Seriously.

And blocking the "mosque" is against everything we stand for regarding religious freedom in the US. "We have to be sensitive, blah, blah, blah...". Really? That is how we make decisions, now; on sensitivity?

Both of them boggle the mind, really.
But the danger in both things is that they are picked up and run with by cynical people like Newt to play for political ends.
But you have to hand it to the guy, he's got balls being married 3 times, a devout cheater saying that gays are a danger to marriage.
Of course, no one can tell me WHAT the danger is to my marriage.
