I'm tired

It's been a long year, and it ain't even over yet.
Just sorta cruising into the third quarter.

There have been a couple times I have taken a small break from my blog.
By break, I usually meant that I would post things for a while like photos or something short that I found funny other than being mostly political.
Although I try to be funny when I'm being political. Not sure exactly how that's working out for me yet, so let me know.

Anyway, sometimes things can weigh on a person and you can only ponder the shit storms raging out there so much before it seems like it's nothing BUT raining poop.

Work's been a little too stressful lately.
It's also been a sad year for doggies in our house.
In June, as reported then, we had to put down one of our 11 year old labs that I have had since she was 2. That was rough. She'd been sick with cancer.
Last week we had to put our Chow to sleep.
My wife has had her since 1993 (WELL before we ever met) but she'd been living with both of us since 2001.
I'm not saying all these things are making me depressed, but I've not been feeling the best for a few weeks.

There has been a bright spot. We were able to go to the shelter and adopt another doggie.
He's cool little guy in need of training and he helps to make our remaining 11 year old lab happy. And she shows him how to be mellow. And sleep all day.

So I'm going to take a little break from writing about the crap that makes me crazy. I'll post some photos (like ones of the dogs), share stories from me or ones I'd like to talk about I found online.
But at the moment, the feeling that even though the majority of the country feels the same way as I do about most issues here and abroad and our voices don't seem to be heard is getting sort of old.
Particularly since we supposedly elected the "opposition" party for oversight, etc.. and they have really been doing nothing but sitting there with their thumbs up their collective asses while they continue letting a criminal administration run over the world. Starting at home..

Here's to wishing for a world not run by sociopaths.

Peace.

Glad you got a new dog. It's always really sad when a pet dies. Our oldest cat died over a year ago. Even though it was natural causes, we were both devastated.

I know the feeling about thinking the political scene is hopeless. I just keep blathering on the internet because I enjoy it and it lets off steam, not because I think it's gonna make any difference.

My current post is of the non-political sick-joke variety. Hope you'll check it out.

I will check it out.

I'd like to think that "ordinary people" can make a difference, but sometimes it doesn't feel that way.

It's nice to know that opinions have shifted into our way of thinking in general, but the will of the people is being ignored..

So sorry to hear about your Chow. I once lost two pets 11 weeks apart, both by sudden natural causes, and it was devastating. I truly understand how bad you feel.

Mike, I've been blogging since 1998 or 1999, and my old (now defunct) blog was extremely political. I was very strident and very passionate, but I finally had to let it go because everything I was angry about would sit in my stomach and burn. I was actually hurting myself with my passion. It's funny because my current blog feels very lackluster to me since it's not being fueled by the same passion I had, but I feel better about my well-being.

So what I'm saying is I fully and completely empathize with what you are saying and feeling.

Again, my condolences to you and your wife for your loss. Hang in there.
