So why did the student shoot people at Virginia Tech?

Well, it's because of that nasty old science, of course.

At least it is according to this nut case on a site called "answers in genesis". Whatever that means.

He said:

We live in an era when public high schools and colleges have all but banned God from science classes. In these classrooms, students are taught that the whole universe, including plants and animals--and humans--arose by natural processes. Naturalism (in essence, atheism) has become the religion of the day and has become the foundation of the education system (and Western culture as a whole). The more such a philosophy permeates the culture, the more we would expect to see a sense of purposelessness and hopelessness that pervades people's thinking. In fact, the more a culture allows the killing of the unborn, the more we will see people treating life in general as "cheap."

Yea, I'm sure that if we taught fairy tales in school, that kid wouldn't have been so troubled.
Thankfully most people don't take morons like this seriously, but the lack of any kind of tact is astounding for sure. Then again, the most radical of the Christers are not always known for thinking first. Or at all.

Then there was the always charming Debbie Schlussel who said immediately that he must be a Pakistani Muslim. She had to update her page about a hundred times, of course.

It's bad enough that all the networks and what have you are spending every moment trying to stick a camera in a grieving person's face.

Can you just give us the story and leave it at that?

um...yeah that's why he killed everyone. MORON! BTW this shooter was talking about Christianity is his final diatribe to the world and it didn't seem to do much then to stop him.

Yea, verily, Jesus could've saved this troubled soul. But those wicked secular humanists -- being tools of Satan -- have driven God and His Son out of our schools. And now look at what's happened. It's all because of those libruls.

I couldn't agree with you more. I'm sick of the sensationalized media driven witch hunt over what went wrong too.

Sar - "Witch hunt" is EXACTLY the phrase I've been using to describe it, too. I've possibly been more offended by the reporting of this tragedy than any other in memory.

Mike - Your topic here corresponds nicely to some of the MSNBC.com message board posts I've been reading from the gun nuts. In between their cries of "guns don't kill people, people kill people" nonsense, you can find references to their "God-given right" to own firearms. Uh, that must be from Ezekiel 25:17, right?

Typical refusal of religious extremist in misunderstanding science.

Evolution, which is the real subject here, does NOT deny God. It has nothing to do with God existing or not existing, nor if everything was created by God.

Science DOES say that the Biblical interpretation/version of creation is not how God did it. Evolution is God's methodology.
