Been a while since a Page scandal in DC.

Oh, the irony.
And not a black fly in your chardonnay irony. Is that even irony? No, I didn't think so.

Of course, it takes only hours, literally before they invoke Clinton's penis:

Foley resigns from Congress over e-mails

WASHINGTON - Rep. Mark Foley (news, bio, voting record), R-Fla., abruptly resigned from Congress on Friday in the wake of questions about e-mails he wrote a former teenage male page.

No kidding? And what's this?

Foley, as chairman of the Missing and Exploited Children's Caucus, had introduced legislation in July to protect children from exploitation by adults over the Internet. He also sponsored other legislation designed to protect minors from abuse and neglect.

Ouch.
I just have to ask, how fucking STUPID do you have to be to write totally inappropriate crap like this via email and instant message??
I mean, wrong is wrong, but to compound it and be that stupid as well?

Hey, and guess what else?

And as an added bonus, he's from Florida.

I can't wait to see the Idiot Brigade (Republican bloggers) try to spin this.

Tom Harper said...

Of course they'll spin it. It's Clinton's fault.

read the discussion area link down at the bottom of the Yahoo page.

you should hear them. and of course, all they can talk about is Clinton's penis.

that has to go down in history as the most powerful penis ever!

Heheh...yeah, I'm waiting to see what the Republitards make of this whole thing as well.

What a fucking IDIOT...and his messaging nickname was just so..."him", too: Maf54?!? (He was born in '54 I think?). What kind of a moron IS this man?

Maybe the republicans protect child molesters because if their homosexual membership involved themselves with consenting adults, it could lead to (gasp) gay marriage!

Foley has checked himself into rehab - sobering up doesn't cure pedophilia last time I looked . . .

he's trying to stay the hell away from cameras, I would imagine.

I have no desire to talk about Clintoon's "Penis", jesus h. christ on a popsicle stick, that's just f-ing wrong, and it's too early in the morning for that.

Now, as to the Foley thing, it's just a non-story. Really.

The "kid" (I don't know about you folks, but by 16, I was pretty much not a "kid"), seemed to be enjoying the exchange. (No, I am not making excuses, this guy is a douche and should have his ass kicked-Foley that is).

What bothers me is the double standard. 15 year old boy has sex with his "hot" female teacher, and the kid is "cool". The teacher get's off with a slap on the wrist.

This guy (idiot) e-mails and text messages a young man and he's an "evil kiddie diddler"? WTF?

Even the guy's parents didn't want this shit out in the open.

Sorry, a bit hung over, but basically, the point is, this has nothing to do with politics, nothing to do with "Republicans" and a whole lot to do with a guy with a major problem that needs counseling at the very least.

Jenn's denial mechanism is working overtime today.

Yes, let's just excuse the fox guarding the chickenhouse of children. Let's just ignore the hypocrisy. Let's overlook a guy using the weight of his position to bring pressure on UNDERAGE young men. That kind of stuff is only important when it's a Democrat, and the "victim" can walk into any bar in the country and order a double-shot of her favorite poison.

What is sicker than Foley (to me, anyway) are the goddamned apologists who absolutely refuse to even try to put the brakes on the leadership that they worship. They don't give a flying fig whether or not their beloved Deities in the Republican Party incinerate this country, or turn it into the kind of a place that makes Guatemala look like a Xanadu of prosperity. Shame on every lousy last one of them.

These bumper stickers say it all...

"Please Spay And Neuter Your Republicans"

"The Republicans Are In Power. Do You Know Where Your Kids Are?"

Let's name the reasons this is wrong: (a) Sexual harassment (b) Inappropriate activity (c) Abuse of power. It also seems possible, the guy was pursuing illegal activity with a technical minor, whether the minor was interested in the activity or not!

The worst part of all this is not that the man has emotional, psychological and possibly physical issues but that high ranking members of the Republican Party appear to have known about his activity and kept the matter quiet. He may be a criminal. They ARE criminals.

It's a non-story? Are you freaking serious?

So, I can't tell, Jenn thinks the age of consent should be lowered to 15 or 16?

Of COURSE the guy's parents didn't want this out in the open. What parent would?

Sorry about your hangover, drunk Jenn.
