Jack the Hat and friend getting some Federal pen time

Let's see, that's a couple scumbags down, about 55 more to go?

We shall see.

According the AP in the story:

Under their plea agreement, both men had faced a sentence of between five years, 10 months, and seven years, three months in federal prison. U.S. District Judge Paul C. Huck also ordered them Wednesday to pay restitution of more than $21 million.

Abramoff and Kidan admitted concocting a fake $23 million wire transfer to make it appear they had made a large cash contribution to the $147.5 million purchase of SunCruz Casinos. Based on that fake transfer, lenders provided the pair with $60 million in financing.

The same week Abramoff pleaded guilty to the SunCruz fraud, he entered guilty pleas to three federal charges as part of a wide-ranging corruption probe that could involve up to 20 members of Congress and aides, including former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, R-Texas.

Well, we'll see who goes down and who doesn't.
Jack and buddy will probably choose their words VERY carefully considering the SunCruz thing has Gambino mob taint all over it.

The republicans are part of the culture of life, though, right?
The Bush administration was going to usher in a time of decency on capital hill.

I was listening to NPR today and caught some coverage of this midstream. Seems many GOPers have sent letters to the judge asking for leniency because Jack & Co are, among other things, "very patriotic". There's been a very skewed perception of patriotic in our country lately.

I hope that they all go down, especially that snake DeLay.

It's fun to watch how BushCo has brought back "the dignity of the White House"... LOL... Makes Clinton's scandals pale in comparison.

I'm a right-wing Republican and I say if they're guilty, nail them. That's the difference between you and us. When it was Clinton (either one), you never admitted anything and still don't. As an example, the FBI background files being stored on Republican opponents and handled by a bar bouncer was never a big deal to you, but you accuse Bush of being Big Brother, etc.

Real conservatives believe that if it can be proven you're guilty, then you get what you get. Duke Cunningham was always one of my heroes, because I'm also an aviation buff and he was a fighter pilot ace. When I found out what he did, especially when it involved monkeying with defense contracts (which might hurt our troops), the first words out of my mouth were not "how do we get him out of this one." They were "you BASTARD!" I was quite satisfied to see him sent up the river. I hope they seize everything he owns to pay back for what he cost us.

Now let's see you say that about anything your favorite crooks have done.

Oh, let me guess...they're all innocent, it's not as bad as what Bush did, etc. See, right there is the difference.

Actually, I don't think getting your dick sucked is as bad as this Iraq war, but thanks for putting words in my mouth.

I didn't vote for Clinton. Either time.

I have voted for two Democrats in my life, Gore and Kerry.
Kerry would not be my first choice for a prez against Bush, but Bush is the worst president ever, so Kerry was good enough for me.

I believe we would be a better nation right now with Al Gore. I am sure of it.

Five years isn't enough for that sleazebag, but it's more than I thought he'd get.
