Court hears "right to die" case of battered girl

I'm not trying to be a smartass or anything, but when I read a story like this one, it makes me even more secure in my belief that we need to drop birth control from the air all over this country.

It's always the fuckups and losers that wind up populating the planet.
All parties should be locked up with necessary key thrown right the fuck away.

The smart people, you know, like those that read this blog and my collection of blogs to the right, don't seem to have that issue. We don't have a litter of babies. We use judgement.
And on the other side, we support family services, child protective services, child care legislation, birth control on demand and safe, legal abortions.

So when the religious right comes out of the woodwork to keep this poor braindead kid alive, ask them what THEY support. Ask them what social services they have personally supported that can help this NOT happen in the future.

Damn. An 11-year lifespan spent in hell. You're right, and Strickland will end up being "borned again" in jail.

Did actually read the story you linked, Mike? Where did the religious right come in? They're just around every corner trying to make you have litters of kids, right?

"Birth control from the air all over the country?" Yeah, especially in the states that are full of those terrifying Christers.

My very intelligent parents had six children. One of them is one of those "smart people" that read your blog.

I'd advise you and your wife to keep on using the birth control, dude.

I plan on it. Because I'm responsible.

And yes, I believe in birth control on demand and education.

And where do the religious right fit in?
I was fairly clear on that. I expect them to make their voices heard in cases like this, though like I said, they are usually Bush voters and members of the extreme right who DON'T believe in birth control, or safe and legal abortions, nor do they believe in funding the social services that take care of the most needy in this country.

aaaaaaaaaah! I can't believe this guy!

"If the court grants his wish, it would allow Stickland to decide whether to take Haleigh off life support and could also allow him to avoid a charge of murder." = This guy is a total bastard.

Mike, I think the point is more that everyone should have to take some kind kind of test or evaluation to have a kid rather than the number if kids you have. Both my parents are 6 (my dad was actually 7, but his youngest bro died from small pox when they were little) and they actually benefitted from a large family. And while I have only one sibling, I was raised in an extended family and have a family that consists of 200+ members. If I have kids, I would also like a large family if I ca afford it both mentally and finacially.

But I think all that is besides the point, which is that idiots like this guys and his totally fucked up family shuold not have had the child. But, the sad thing is, that even if birth control fell free from the sky, these assholes would not have taken it because they're irresponsible. They live in Mass, one of the most liberal states!

Yea, I know.
Maybe I was blowing off too much steam.
I probably stated things a little different than I would have after filtering it a bit..
I just get so angry when I hear stories about children being abused and a broken system like this that is in the least, partly complicit in what happened to her.

BTW, Robert, you are welcome to post here anytime. All views are welcome and up for debate.

Thanks, fair enough. I just got a little steamed too. I don't think religion had anything to do with this particualr story--just some sick, sad people. and in this case I personally would allow the girl to go in peace.

I get angry too Mike. =).
