DeLay indicted on new charges


AUSTIN, Texas (Reuters) - A Texas grand jury on Monday indicted U.S. Rep. Tom DeLay on two new felony charges including money laundering, following a conspiracy indictment last week which forced him to step aside as the second-ranking Republican in the U.S. House of Representatives.

The new indictment accuses DeLay of money laundering and conspiracy to commit money laundering in a campaign finance scheme and greatly raises the legal stakes for the once-powerful Texan because it includes a potential punishment of life in prison if convicted.

Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.


I am SO loving watching the Reich Wing fall apart in the last year.
The best thing is that they are imploding under their own weight.
The have a compliant press that asks no questions, save for a couple tears during the aftermath of hurricane Katrina.
They have all of the AM radio and a couple entire news stations as part of their echo machine.
The Bible belt and other religious freaks around the country are all on their knees.
Of course, the latter are still crying as if they are being "marginalized" by us secularists.

I doubt anything too serious will happen to any of the individuals (though one can hope) but watching the crumble is getting to be fun.
Seeing the Boy King stumble over the English language is getting to be even funnier, as is watching Spanky McClelland try to dodge and weave around pretty basic questions.

I wonder, when the Religious kooks in this country that voted for these people go to bed at night, do they stare at the ceiling and wonder how they could support people that are so morally bankrupt?
I'm assuming the ones that have a normal amount of grey matter here, not the drooling knuckledraggers, mouth-breathers and gay bashers.
