Bush picks Miers to replace O'Connor on top court
She's not even a freakin judge!!
WASHINGTON (Reuters) -
President George W. Bush on Monday reached into his inner circle and nominated White House counsel Harriet Miers for a Supreme Court vacancy, choosing a woman with legal experience but who is not a judge to replace the retiringSandra Day O'Connor.
Miers, 60, a longtime ally of Bush's going back to his days as Texas governor, would be the third woman ever to serve on the Supreme Court if confirmed by the U.S. Senate. O'Connor was the first and Ruth Bader Ginsburg has been there since 1993.
"I believe that senators of both parties will find that Harriet Miers' talent, experience and judicial philosophy make her a superb choice to safeguard the constitutional liberties and equality of all Americans," Bush said in an Oval Office ceremony with Miers.

Am I supposed to be so busy applauding him for choosing a woman that I don't notice or care that she's never served as a judge?
And have you ever noticed when he does some stupid stunt like this, trying to appeal to the masses, he always wears a blue tie. The only blue metaphore I'll buy into here is sad. Sad we're stuck with this President whose judgement is equally sad.
