One more post for Friday, and that's it.

Someone at work was talking about Bush being a "Christian".
We got into a discussion.
What follows, sums up my thoughts on that and my response.
There was not much of a response back..

Bush is a "Christian" because some preacher was able to get him to stop drinking and taking drugs.
He's not a religious man at all, that is all smoke and mirrors, like the phony hick clothes and redneck talk that Karen Hughes and Karl Rove designed for the New England man of priveledge.

Bush would no more live a life of Christ than he would live in a house without a servant.

The Boy King was installed for two reasons, and two reasons only: to further the trickle of money UP to the wealthy, and to carry out that which was written by PNAC, years ago.

That's it in a nutshell.

There is not ONE neo-con or Bush-supporter anywhere that can pin down and show me ONE thing that Bush has been behind that was good for the average working person/family in this country. Because that's what all of us are. Working people. Variations of the middle class.

He was elected by the wealthy for obvious reasons, and by some levels of the working class because he hates fags and he talks a good Jesus rap.
Given the state of the nation right now, if you voted for Bush, shame on you.

Well-said and right on. There is also another reason why Bush supporters that I am acquainted with voted for him: they believed that he would seal the borders against all immigration! They are a bunch of xenophobes.

Thanks, man.
And I tell you, PNAC scares the hell out of me.
I never even knew about them until a year or so ago.

Good post. I can't believe how many middle-class and working-class people voted for Bush. What were they thinking? "He's gonna rob me blind, but he hates fags and so do I; he's got my vote"?

I think that's certainly a big part of it.
Working people in general tend to be fairly socially conservative, and for decades and decades, gay rights and the like were not really part of the debate.
They tended to vote Democrat because they were usually more labor-friendly.
I'm not saying Kerry or Gore was the best choice overall, but think about this.
Gore wins in 2000. How would the country be different?
Sounds like fodder for a post here.. :)

So good to see an American GUY display some logic and intelligence, as well as knowledge of what really goes on in America. Most seem to be hiding their heads up their fundamental orifice while they wave their Bibles, and/or bash people over the head with them.

A good many people I met seemed to be almost afraid of thinking beyond the prevailing conservative fear-driven dictates of the "ruling classes" ... and their own survival-driven need for the safety of "staying in the box!"

I spent 5 years in USA, from 1999 to 2004. I became very troubled and dismayed by the marked deterioration in morale, standard of living, health and economic security for the majority of people over those years. I was particularly stunned by how 'obedient' people in general are to even the most arbitrary dictates of 'authority' ... and how few are able to think for themselves about serious issues which effected their own lives and the lives of others ... AND which they COULD and CAN do something to change.

I have to say that my first impression of USA left me aghast at the poverty and terrible living standards for most people. I travelled in 46 states over the 5 years - so observed quite a bit.

Great to read your opinions and thoughts ... Good-onya mate! You've raised my opinion of Yanks ... ~smiles~
