The same people who complain about Mexicans are the
same people who support corn subsidies and are probably the same people who can't figure out why most Americans are overweight. When High Fructose Corn Syrup is cheaper than any other foods we eat, you are going to see a lot of it in cheap food.Toad734https://www.blogger.com/profile/01450263690181812924noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14647902.post-89780152129662954872008-03-25T17:45:00.000-07:002008-03-25T17:45:00.000-07:00Etna is still there. It's on El Cajon Blvd and arou...Etna is still there.
It's on El Cajon Blvd and around 42nd.
You were close.. :)Mike V.https://www.blogger.com/profile/11447125621060874022noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14647902.post-46506922344628196392008-03-25T17:00:00.000-07:002008-03-25T17:00:00.000-07:00Mike - Do you know if Etna's is still in business ...Mike - Do you know if Etna's is still in business on University and around, oh, 52nd or so? I used to get Italian there all the time, the later the better. I loved their pizza sauce.

The Foos are always great. That was my second time seeing them. The first time was one of those acoustic shows at the Pantages where they recorded their acoustic CD a year or so ago.LAhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03007198807321069686noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14647902.post-10635655517548402722008-03-25T13:30:00.000-07:002008-03-25T13:30:00.000-07:00Man, I could NEVER live without good Mexican food....Man, I could NEVER live without good Mexican food.
when I lived in the San Jose area, it was also everywhere. Super Taqueria in San Jose being the top of the taco world (to me).

We're pretty fucking close to the border. Wait, San Diego County is ON the border.. :)
So there's plenty to choose from.
The key (in general) is to avoid at all costs Mexican restaurants in the 'burbs and any place that costs more than 20 bucks for a huge meal for two people.
Cheap, small and family owned is the way to go here.
Believe me, San Diego over all has a LONG way to go when it comes to food.
I drive past Red Lobster or Cheesecake Factory and actually see people standing IN LINE for that shit!!!Mike V.https://www.blogger.com/profile/11447125621060874022noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14647902.post-38437612106478534162008-03-25T10:35:00.000-07:002008-03-25T10:35:00.000-07:00There aren't too many things I miss about Californ...There aren't too many things I miss about California after moving to Washington, but dammit, Mexican food is one of them. They have it up here but it's pretty sad.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
