El Diablo, part 2!

In the interest of fairness, we must present all people who invoke the devil when talking about politicians.

Falwell is the latest in a Satan-filled few days.

RICHMOND, Va. - The Rev. Jerry Falwell acknowledged on Sunday that he said if Sen.
Hillary Rodham Clinton were the Democrats' presidential nominee in 2008, it would motivate conservative evangelical Christians to oppose her more than if the devil himself were running.

Now that would be an interesting race.

The real funny quote from Falwell is this one, a standard RNC/Rove talking point that just rolls right off his (forked?) tongue:

"In my opinion, the big issue then will be what the big issue is today, and that is national security and the war on terrorism at home and abroad. I don't think anybody doubts that the Republicans have a better record and a better commitment to national security than the Democrats do."

Poor grammar aside, I think he might be completely insane.
Then again, most of these Jesus-freak types are crazy.

Hmmm - give me a moment to re-read Dante and figure out which circle of hell he is going to . . .

Falwell calling anyone Satan is the pot calling the kettle black.

Falwell and Pat Robertson both serve the government very well. Officially, government spokespeople can dismiss them as just a couple of senile windbags. But unofficially they're saying "Yeah! Keep it up Pat/Jerry. Keep whipping up this hysteria among the masses. It's working!"

Wow! Jenn said something that makes sense, for the first time! Kudos!!!

In Jesusistan, faith can trump and override any fact. Therefore, whatever the Elder Falwell says is "true," same as whatever the simian Deity or his lawyer-blasting Archangel says is "true."
